            RTI NGO INDIA

Youth Forum For RTI was created on 14th October, 2007 as a result of workshop organized by Utkarsh in association with MICCI (New Delhi) and FES (New Delhi). Dr. P.N. Mishra a renowned academician and a famed personality and Mr. Gautam Kothari expressed their faith in the youth of the nation and agreed to be our mentors. Youth Forum For RTI is the first of its kind created by enthusiastic and dynamic students of Indore (M.P) which is solely dedicated to create awareness among every individual about the Right To Information Act. The forum is a non-profit organization and takes the responsibility of educating the masses about the Right To Information Act which can be used by any Indian to get the desired information from the government. Presently the forum is in the rudimentary stage and is working under the aegis of Utkarsh - A Society For Social Awakening and Change. The forum constitutes conveners, secretaries, treasurer and technical head as office bearers and other members. None of the post in the office is permanently occupied by any person. The functioning of the forum is conducted in a democratic way and elections are held after every three months for various posts of the office.

The process of creating awareness about the Right To Information Act among the masses by the forum is not just a theoretical approach but is accompanied with practical exposure also. The forum members file the RTI application and make public the results so that the real utility of the  Act can be shown to the people. Thus, our awareness procedure consists of explanation of the Act accompanied with the practical aspect of the Act. To do so, the forum members are made well versed with the Right To Information Act by various training programmes presided over by eminent lawyers, social activists and media persons who present practical aspect of the Act supported with real life examples.

The forum is looking for dynamic and dedicated people who want to transform the present scenario and bring good governance in the society by rooting out corruption by working hand in hand with us.

Objectives of  Youth Forum For RTI are:-

  1. To make people aware about the Right to Information Act.

  2. To file as many as RTI applications as possible and make the government accountable in real terms.

  3. To bring people closer to the government and thereby increase transparency.

  4. To work closely with other organizations striving for the same cause.

P.S. - If you want to share your experience of using the RTI Act, kindly click on Publish Testimonials link on top (if you are a registered user) or else Register first.
